May & June 2009: Ministry of Helps

JCF is delighted to report the successful intervention on behalf of each one of the lives mentioned below through the assistance of donors in the US and around the world.  Thank you all for stepping up when the need was urgent and giving hope to each life by your donations and prayers.

Below are a few of the needs that JCF contributors helped to meet through their generous donations in May and June of 2009.

An Arab Christian family, living in the Muslim quarter of the Old city of Jerusalem have suffered many acts of intimidation and violence from their neighbors over the past years. The worst happened recently.  Teenage boys attacked their 8 year old son, whose teeth were badly smashed and permanently damaged. The family do not have the means to pay for his dental treatment. They were only able to pay for emergency treatment and he is now on pain killers until he can have all the necessary dental care. The price of the treatment is $1,000. Narkis Street congregation have come forward with $250 so he can begin the treatment but the family urgently needs the rest of the money.

Praise Report: JCF gave money that came in to help with the cost of the dental treatment.

A Lebanese Christian family of 5 in Tiberius is struggling to pay their rent and meet growing medical costs.  Their youngest child is severely handicapped and his mother is his primary carer. She gets very little help with his care and only has relief for a few hours every day when he is taken for therapy. The husband is presently unemployed and they live on a small income from the National Insurance. They have mounting bills and are very depressed and overwhelmed by their situation.  A financial gift will help to lift their burdens and bring hope to their lives.

Praise Report: JCF was able to help this family with funds that brought hope to their desperate circumstance.

An elderly Jewish believer, recently underwent hip surgery and is soon to be released from rehab to return home. He and his wife live on a Government pension and cannot afford any help in the home. He is still having difficulty walking and his wife is in a very delicate physical state, unable to lift or attend to her husbands needs. They need a gift of money to help them pay for someone to come in for at least a month to help them until the husband becomes more mobile.

Praise Report: JCF was able to give a sizable amount to help with a month of in home care.
