JCF Newsletter—April 2024

Set the Captives free

Since the Hamas invasion of Israel on October 7th, 2023, the eyes of the world have become even more focused on this conflict-ridden region. Now, nearly half a year later, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) continue on in a very complicated war of multiple fronts which also includes the battle for global perception. 1,139 people were murdered that day,  while thousands suffered physical and emotional injuries, including numerous reports of rape, torture, and sexual assault.

Hamas forces also kidnapped 253 people from Israel on October 7th, including children, women, and the elderly. Notably, 80 Israeli captives were exchanged at the end of November for 240 Palestinian prisoners at a three to one ratio. This Israeli practice of not leaving a fellow citizen behind is a long-respected Jewish tradition.  READ MORE

Thank you for your contributions to JCF that have enabled us to reach out and help so many—Israelis, Palestinians, and others in their time of need.  Below are ministries and projects that JCF has partnered with and people whom we have aided in 2023 and since the beginning of 2024.

JCF gave

  • $14,000 to Shevet Achim, a Christian community led by Jonathan Miles that coordinates and sponsors bringing children from Gaza, Iraq and Syria to Israeli hospitals for open-heart surgeries.

  • $7,000 to House of Light, an Israeli Arab Christian ministry led by Anis and Nawal Barhoum that provides spiritual and social aid to both Jews and Arabs. JCF specifically aided House of Light’s prison work, which visits and disciples current and former prisoners.
