Good eye is an expression for generosity, so if you have a “good eye” your whole body is full of light. Generosity means you are sharing with other people, sharing with the poor…We want to make sure we have a “good eye”, we want to make sure we are full of light and not darkness and we want to make sure that we spread light in our corners, wherever we are in this world.”

We all know the story. A rich man dies and goes to an afterlife of suffering. He returns to warn his equally avaricious “brother” about the torment to come. These rich men have spent their lives worrying about “the bottom line” while ignoring the needs of those around them. Whether Charles Dickens realized it or not, A Christmas Carol was predated by “A Christmas Parable.” In Luke 16, two parables, in fact, are spoken by Jesus about rich men and their relationships with others.

Jcf charity report: Your Gifts Helped these Ministries, Individuals, and Families from october to november 2020

Due to the impact of COVID-19, many Bethlehem families area are suffering economically. JCF gave $763 to help cover essential expenses for eight Bethlehem families and individuals.

Educational and Treatment Center for Hearing Impaired Students in Northern Israel. The center helps hearing impaired students from disadvantaged backgrounds overcome learning difficulties to achieve educational excellence. Because of the COVID19 epidemic, JCF provided five refurbished computers to help the students with their online studies ($1525).

Michelle is a young Israeli single mother with a 5 year old boy. Up until recently she lived with her parents but had to leave home when her father sued her, freezing her bank account. She has found an apartment, a kindergarten for her son, and a part-time job. Her apartment is not furnished and she worries about meals for her son in the next month. JCF is helping cover some basic costs for Michelle and her son ($650).

Harry is an Arab orphan from Bethlehem with a young family. JCF helped cover part of his kids’ school tuition ($800). 

JCF helped cover school tuition for Christian Arab children in Jericho ($300).
